About the Job:
Shearon Environmental Design Company, a leader in the landscape industry, is seeking a dependable and motivated Assistant Landscape Foreman to join our team. The Assistant Foreman supports the Landscape Foreman in managing a crew of 3–5 employees, ensuring work is completed safely, efficiently, and to Shearon’s high standards. This role typically serves as the primary driver for the crew and requires a valid driver’s license. The Assistant Foreman is expected to demonstrate reliability, technical skill, and the ability to step into leadership responsibilities when needed.
Key Responsibilities:
• Support the Foreman in leading and directing a landscape crew on installation and maintenance projects.
• Serve as the primary driver, transporting crew members, tools, and materials to job sites.
• Operate company vehicles, trailers, hand tools, and small power equipment safely and effectively.
• Assist with loading, unloading, and securing equipment and materials.
• Perform landscape tasks including planting, mulching, mowing, trimming, irrigation installation, and hardscape preparation.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe job site at all times.
• Step into leadership responsibilities in the Foreman’s absence to ensure project continuity.
• Communicate progress and challenges to the Foreman and Operations Managers.
Qualifications:
• Minimum 2-3 years of landscape installation or maintenance experience.
• Valid driver’s license with a clean driving record (required).
• Ability to operate vehicles, trailers, and landscape equipment safely.
• Dependable, hardworking, and willing to learn leadership skills.
• Ability to lift/carry 50–80 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions.
• Prior supervisory or crew leadership experience is a plus, but not required.
