Construction/Landscape
Senior Superintendent

We have an immediate opening for an experienced construction/landscape superintendent in our West Chester, PA Division. Qualified individuals should have a minimum of (3) years’ related Landscape experience with career-oriented goals.

If you are honest, hardworking, self-motivated, dependable and would like to work with a positive team of professionals and can meet the following requirements:

Capabilities:

· Minimum of 3 years’ experience in landscape construction, commercial experience preferred

· Landscape construction estimating

· Landscape design

· Project management

· Personnel management

· Client relations

· CDL preferred

Compensation:

· $50K-$55K+/yr, depending on experience; 401K, health insurance, paid holidays/vacation, year-round employment

Vice President, Construction

We are seeking a well-qualified, sales and operations-oriented individual to join our landscape team in our Hopewell office in NJ.

Shearon is a family-owned, multi-disciplinary landscape design/build/maintenance firm with branches located in Plymouth Meeting, PA., West Chester, PA., Hopewell, NJ & Voorhees, NJ. We have provided top-quality services to a wide variety of commercial and residential clients throughout the Delaware Valley since 1974.

Shearon maintains various specialty divisions to provide a cohesive approach to site and landscape design. Shearon Golf focuses on golf course design, restoration, and construction. Shearon Sports offers a comprehensive approach to athletic field and sports complex design, construction, and management.

The right candidate will have:

Education:

• Degree in green industry or business (Landscape Architecture or closely related field, i.e. Landscape Contracting)

• Professional registration desirable.

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of progressive experience in a landscape design/build/maintenance firm or closely related industry.

Requirements:

• Sales in the industry capable of $2,000,000 annually.

• Strong management skills.

• Estimating skills for the industry

• Good interpersonal skills and teambuilding approach for interfacing with all branches and divisions of the company.

• Great attitude and positive, forward thinking

• Knowledge of basic landscape design/maintenance principles and a demonstrated ability to manage the maintenance process. This will require:

o Knowledge of plant material, including its identification, cultural requirements and design attributes.

o Knowledge of hardscape elements and their use in the landscape, including paving, grading and drainage, irrigation and low-voltage lighting.

Experienced Tree Climber

We are located in the Downingtown area and are looking for full time experienced tree climbers. If you are honest, hardworking, self-motivated, dependable and would like to work with a positive team of tree care professionals that enjoy working in a safer outdoor environment and can meet the following requirements;
Capabilities:
· Verifiable rope and saddle tree climbing, pruning, removal and rigging experience
· Experience operating chainsaws, aerial lift trucks, skid steer, forklift etc….
· Valid driver’s license, clean driving record. CDL preferred but not required.
· Good listening and communication skills
· Minimum 2 years of experience

Experienced Small Engine Mechanic

This opportunity is in our Plymouth Meeting Corporate Office and we are looking for a full time experienced small-engine mechanic. If you are honest, hardworking, self-motivated, dependable and would like to work with a positive team of professionals and can meet the following requirements:
Capabilities:
· Experienced in small equipment operations and repairs, especially mowing, landscaping and construction tools.
· Valid driver’s license, clean driving record. CDL preferred but not required.

Internship programs

Shearon Environmental Design offers internship programs to candidates who possess a strong commitment to quality, are goal oriented, and are ready for a challenge. If these characteristics describe you, Shearon is interested in speaking with you. Participating in Shearon’s internship program will provide you with an opportunity to experience an array of on the job training within a large commercial landscape firm. Upon graduation, successful candidates are often placed in full-time positions.

Student housing subsidies are available for summer interns.

Students must be enrolled in a landscape or horticulture related program, maintain a 2.5 or higher GPA, and have a clean driving record.
