Position Overview

The Landscape Foreman is a working supervisor who leads a 3–5-person crew in the field, overseeing landscape installation and maintenance projects. This position requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and hands-on execution. In addition to managing daily site activities, the Foreman serves as a liaison between crew members, clients, and Operations Managers. Design-build Foremen must be able to read and interpret plans and ensure projects are implemented to specification.

Key Responsibilities

Crew Leadership & Site Oversight

  • Lead a 3–5-person landscape crew on installation and maintenance projects
  • Assign and oversee daily tasks to ensure timely, high-quality work
  • Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly
  • Maintain an organized, clean, and safe job site at all times
  • Enter electronic timesheets for yourself and crew daily

Communication & Coordination

  • Act as primary on-site point of contact for clients and property managers
  • Report progress and issues to Operations Managers in a timely manner
  • Coordinate with internal teams for materials, scheduling, and logistics

Technical Execution & Plan Reading- only needed for Design/Build foreman

  • Read and interpret construction drawings and landscape plans (required for design-build roles)
  • Ensure proper installation of plant materials, hardscaping, drainage, and other landscape elements
  • Identify and resolve on-site challenges with minimal supervision

Required Qualifications

  • Minimum 2 years of landscape installation or maintenance experience
  • Prior leadership or crew supervision experience strongly preferred
  • Ability to read and follow landscape plans (design-build experience required)
  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
  • Ability to lift/carry 50–80 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
