Position Overview
The Landscape Foreman is a working supervisor who leads a 3–5-person crew in the field, overseeing landscape installation and maintenance projects. This position requires strong leadership, technical knowledge, and hands-on execution. In addition to managing daily site activities, the Foreman serves as a liaison between crew members, clients, and Operations Managers. Design-build Foremen must be able to read and interpret plans and ensure projects are implemented to specification.
Key Responsibilities
Crew Leadership & Site Oversight
- Lead a 3–5-person landscape crew on installation and maintenance projects
- Assign and oversee daily tasks to ensure timely, high-quality work
- Operate company vehicles and equipment safely and responsibly
- Maintain an organized, clean, and safe job site at all times
- Enter electronic timesheets for yourself and crew daily
Communication & Coordination
- Act as primary on-site point of contact for clients and property managers
- Report progress and issues to Operations Managers in a timely manner
- Coordinate with internal teams for materials, scheduling, and logistics
Technical Execution & Plan Reading- only needed for Design/Build foreman
- Read and interpret construction drawings and landscape plans (required for design-build roles)
- Ensure proper installation of plant materials, hardscaping, drainage, and other landscape elements
- Identify and resolve on-site challenges with minimal supervision
Required Qualifications
- Minimum 2 years of landscape installation or maintenance experience
- Prior leadership or crew supervision experience strongly preferred
- Ability to read and follow landscape plans (design-build experience required)
- Strong communication and organizational skills
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record
- Ability to lift/carry 50–80 lbs and work outdoors in various weather conditions
