The Reserve at Creekside

Planting, Irrigation, Hardscape and Design

The Reserve at Creekside located in Whitemarsh Township consists of 220 carriage homes, a community center with pool, and a commercial office building.  The community was constructed on top of a reclaimed quarry.  The resulting soil conditions created a unique challenge for establishing and growing turf.  After struggling to establish the turf quality that homeowners with views of Philadelphia Cricket Club expected, Shearon Environmental Design was brought in to assess the situation and provide solutions.

Through a series of complex tests, Shearon developed a turf program of aggressive aeration, overseeding, and top dressing to change the soil profile and produce top quality turf.  Shearon has also developed a plan for the portion of the community that had yet to be constructed effectively getting ahead of the poor soil condition before they could adversely affect new turf and plants.  Shearon’s team also completed the landscape installation for the remainder of the project build-out; installing plantings, rain gardens and stormwater management systems.

Shearon also earned the landscape maintenance contract for the Homeowners Association, modifying the turf program to keep the turf strong and green, upgrading landscapes at high impact areas, and providing snow removal services.
